For years, pickup trucks were primarily available in single-cab configurations, mainly designed for farm work and other commercial purposes. But if you want to buy a single cab truck today, the number of options is not that diverse. What does a single cab mean?

The single or regular cab is the smallest of the three cab styles, accommodating two to three passengers. It features two full-size, front-hinged doors and typically lacks additional space behind the front seats, setting it apart from other cab types.

Single cab trucks for sale in 2025

In 2024, GMC stands out as one of just three brands, alongside its sibling Chevrolet, that still offers a regular cab light-duty pickup truck. The latter configuration features a 40/20/40 split-bench, with the middle seat a bit tight for most adults. Single-cab trucks are also sold as Regular Cabs by Ford Motor Company. Ram discontinued its RAM 1500 single cab last year, while the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra have not provided a regular cab option since at least 2019. Fortunately, you can still find plenty of cars in the used truck market. In the heavy-duty segment, the selection of traditional two-door pickup trucks is somehow wider.

For the 2025 model year, Detroit’s Big Three offer 40/20/40 split bench seating on their light-duty trucks. That leaves the only three-person singles available for configuration:

• Ford F-150 Regular Cab;
• Silverado 1500 Regular Cab;
• GMC Sierra 1500 Regular Cab.

The F-150 Regular Cab is exclusive to the work-oriented XL class. The most affordable F-series offer two-bed lengths. Moving on to General Motors, the single cabin is limited to the Silverado 1500 WT and Sierra 1500 Pro grades. As with Ford, potential customers have two-bed lengths available for this cab style. The Standard Bed is 6.5 feet long.
