This is how the first Jeep was born - the Willys MB, which has since become a symbol of freedom and adventure. Off-road and military combat became the place where Jeep proved its high cross-country ability and overall reliability. During the war, Jeep helped move troops, equipment, and supplies, even where no other vehicle could reach them.
After the war, Jeep became a popular vehicle for recreation and entertainment. High ground clearance and full suspension made it ideal for trips out of town and on the open road. This car turned into one of the most versatile, beloved, and reliable cars in the US. Jeep brand became the embodiment of strength, resilience, and determination.

Jeep lineup development
The Jeep model range began with the first military vehicle Willys MB, created during World War II. Subsequently, in 1945, it became the Jeep CJ - a civilian version. In the following decades, the company developed new models, particularly the Jeep Wagoneer, which appeared in 1963 and became the world's first all-wheel drive luxury SUV.

New 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee: a breakthrough in the world of luxury SUVs
Jeep is bringing the new 2025 Grand Cherokee to market, and it will be a real game-changer. This car is not just another luxury SUV but a revolutionary step into the future with impressive performance and eco-friendly technologies.
Jeep is making a bold move by replacing the usual V6 and V8 engines with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The 4xe plug-in hybrid, already a favorite among Wrangler fans, is now available for the Grand Cherokee. With a 17.3 kWh battery, this engine produces 375 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful in the Jeep lineup.
The Grand Cherokee’s new design sets it apart from its competitors. The car is available in two versions: with large 21-inch wheels for the urban jungle and an aggressive Trailhawk version for conquering off-road terrain. In the Trailhawk version, the SUV is equipped with 18-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires with a high profile and aggressive tread, and the air suspension allows you to raise the body by 3 in to overcome the most challenging routes.
The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee can boast 110+ safety and driver assistance systems. This includes collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous driving, making it one of the safest cars in its class. These technologies facilitate driving, providing maximum comfort and safety on the road.
With a weight of 2.4 tons, the plug-in hybrid provides an electric range of up to 25 miles according to American EPA standards. Jeep aims to increase this figure to 30 miles in the European WLTP cycle, allowing drivers to enjoy all the tax benefits for environmentally friendly cars. At the same time, the combined torque helps the Grand Cherokee easily handle any off-road challenges.
Jeep Gladiator to become a plug-in hybrid in 2025
Jeep will add a plug-in hybrid modification to the Gladiator pickup truck. Antonio Filosa, the brand CEO, did not disclose details, except that they scheduled the premiere for 2025.
Jeep management said that the Gladiator would become a plug-in hybrid back in early 2021, that is, shortly after the premiere of the platform-sharing Wrangler 4xe. Most likely, this SUV will share its powertrain with the pickup truck. It includes a two-liter 272-horsepower gasoline turbocharged four-cylinder with a 45-horsepower starter-generator and a separate 136-horsepower electric motor built into an eight-speed automatic instead of a torque converter. The all-wheel-drive system with a transfer case has remained nearly the same.
The pickup underwent a restyling in 2023. It lost its diesel engine, so the only alternative to the future Gladiator 4xe will be a modification with a 3.6-liter 285-horsepower Pentastar V6.
2025 Wagoneer 4xe Plug-in Hybrids
Both full-size Jeep SUVs, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, will get 4xe hybrid versions next year. Filosa called these powertrains range-extending units, which suggests they will feature the same systems found in the 2025 Ramcharger plug-in hybrid pickup. The new Jeep models share the same body-on-frame platform as the RAM 1500 truck, so the Ramcharger powertrain, which includes a 3.6-liter V-6, electric engines, and a large battery pack, will be used in the SUVs as well.
The Wagoneer 4xe models will join Jeep’s hybrid lineup. It will be among the few full-size plug-in hybrid SUVs, as only the BMW XM and Range Rover in the luxury segment currently have PHEV options.
